Mommy and Me music classes are very interactive. The children use a variety of instruments and most of the songs they sing are nursery rhymes such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. They also follow the Learning Without Tears program when they use their rhythm sticks or bells. I also use the flannel board and sing songs and activities that incorporate school readiness skills. Various movement activities using a parachute are integrated to encourage active learning.
Tot Time’s Mommy and Me art classes are sensory based, and every class has either playdough, shaving cream or paint activities that follow various themes. During each class, I will read a story and there will be a craft that follows the book theme. The classes consist of children of similar age, max 5 kids per session. It is a child-led experience to explore 4 different multi-sensory stations at their own pace. The stations are broken into 4 categories: dry sensory bin, a sensory activity or craft, painting project, and a tabletop sensory play experience.
